The Pour
Transcending the traditional limitations of precious metal foundries, we cast panels up to two feet square, capturing ultra-high detail without surface flaws or inclusions.
The People
Fusing ancient workflows with modern digital tools, our dedicated team of master craftsmen honors the art of fine metalwork, refusing to sacrifice quality for speed.
Case StudyMichelangelo’s David
Over nearly 3 years, we cast and built the world's largest silver sculpture - The Pure Silver David by Michelangelo. A posthumous one-of-a-kind original, created from a plaster mold taken from the marble masterpiece in 1928 by Fonderia Artistica Ferdinanod Marinelli in 1928. This piece is the first ever artwork appraised at over $1B USD, and holds two Guinness World Records for the largest and heaviest silver sculpture ever produced.
A Historic Milestone
Commissioned and produced by Mark Russo of Treasure Investments Corporation. Authorized and authenticated by Foundry Marinelli and Casa Bounarroti.
Innovation
To support a sculpture over 16 feet tall, and weighing over 46,000 oz of pure .999 fine silver, Anthony Congie designed and built a pioneering internal armature and attachment system capable of allowing this piece to stand the test of time.
Craftsmanship
Master silversmith Kevin Kreger pushed his decades of experience to the limit building this monument to produce a perfect posthumus original, with seamless yet strong welds across 114 separate panels.
Case StudyRandy Bowen’s Silver Surfer
A prototype, reimagining classic Bowen designs in pure silver.
Fun fact: Randy sketched a custom base concept on the spot.
Origins
Randy allowed us to use his original sculptures for prototyping and proof of concept. Upon completion of the originals, a custom miniature version is being produced for Randy's personal collection.
Prototyping
We used high-resolution 3D scanning and digital engineering to isolate components to ensure highly detailed and cleaning castings.
Collaboration
Demonstrating that creators can trust Firebird with sensitive IP, Bowen visited on-site to approve the finished pieces.
Case StudyThe Barlow Wildlife Series
Translating organic muscle kinesis into solid silver via custom satin finishing.
Debut
Commissioned by Gustavo Castillo, we translated sculptor Mike Barlow’s iconic wildlife forms into investment-cast silver for the first time.
Partnership
Working directly alongside the artist, we developed a custom satin finish that beautifully accentuates the physical contours of the forms.
